I am now offering Realizing Freedom phone sessions for those interested in exploring the reasons for their unhappiness and pain on a deep level. The Dalai Lama has said that the highest spiritual task we are given is to be happy. Inside each of our hearts is the desire to be happy, underneath all the things we think we want is the simple and noble longing for joy. It is my honor to assist you in your journey of realizing your own inherent happiness, that is already there alive within you, albeit so often elusive and obscured.
I will serve as a witness and fellow voyager with you on your own journey of unfolding and healing. In our work we will trust that within you is a natural healing intelligence that knows what is needed. This intelligence is no different from that which begins knitting a broken bone back together even before the doctor is able to put a caste on it. Together we will work to access this intelligence and allow the healing to happen in a natural and therefore optimal way. We will ask your mind to serve as a witness rather than leader in this work. Instead we will look to your feelings and body sensations to guide these sessions.
But first a bit more about me - my spiritual journey began when I was around 5 years old. There was a lot of pain and conflict in my family when I was young and this drew me to a place where I felt safe - inside, not happy but at least safe. Like so many people in the healing arts my spiritual journey was born from the need to find a way to deal with and eventually heal my own pain. Luckily, I found refuge at a young age in the natural world. I spent a lot of contemplative time alone with my first teacher - the woods, fields, creeks, rivers, ocean and sky.
From this young age I was always most curious about the deeper reality behind things, the truth of what lies below the surface of people and life itself. When I was in my early teens I began to devour many spiritual books of various traditions that opened my mind to the many ways of “seeing”. In my early twenties I became very involved in various Native American ceremonies such as the Sweatlodge and Vision Quest. I actively participated in these ceremonies and often times worked closely with the Sweat Leader/Shaman. In my mid twenties the Sweat Leader I was apprenticing with at the time (an apprentice of Charlie Thom) gave me a medicine bag and told me one day I would be leading sweats. However, my path seemed to be leading me elsewhere, at least for the time being.
I became deeply interested in the meditative disciplines of Buddhism and the study of Transpersonal Psychology and Somatic (Body Centered Psychotherapy) work. I sat numerous extended meditation retreats over the years. I also spent many years in the Ridhwan school studying the Diamond Approach with the founder of the school and author of many highly respected Spiritual books, A.H. Almaas. I also recently graduated from the Hoffman Quadrinity Process to deepen my healing and understanding. Part of my personal journey has included reckoning with the deep issue of having work that I love. Taking the leap from my comfortable yet meaningless (to me) Civil Engineering career of over 10 years to follow my heart to become a writer and healer was one of the most courageous and difficult tasks of my life.
Now, at the age of 39 I feel very blessed to have been on this journey and to have received the teachings of these deep and rich spiritual traditions. Over the years I have often found myself naturally in the role of counselor with friends and loved ones. I now realize that this is because I am being called to help others in their journey of healing and awakening.
To that end I am now offering Realizing Freedom phone sessions. I am currently offering 25min sessions for $40 and 50min sessions for $75. Please click here to book a session.
Peace,
Ralph
